Ben Goodis is an associate practising in the Restructuring and Insolvency Group and the Financial Services Group. His practice focuses on cross-border commercial restructurings. Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Ben was a summer and articling student at the firm. During his articles, Ben gained valuable corporate and advocacy experience with the Financial Services, Business Law and Advocacy Groups. He assisted with a number of corporate transactions including international financings, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border insolvencies and restructurings.
Ben completed his J.D. at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. He received the E. Bruce Leonard prize, awarded by the Insolvency Institute of Canada, for achieving top standing in his Restructuring & Insolvency course. As a student, Ben was a member of Faculty Council and participated in the Zuber Moot and the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada. In the fall of 2014, he spent a term studying abroad at the University of Lucerne in Switzerland.
Prior to studying law, Ben graduated on the Dean’s List from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Specialization in Political Science.
